The future of sport lies with the elderly! What an absurd comment you might think - but in our eyes its true. Ruth “Nana-Hammer” Firth is the world’s oldest female athlete and has broken the world record in shot-put at the World Master Games in Sydney. She may have been the only person competing in the category of 100-104 year old people, but that doesn’t make her gold medal any less valid. She should have won a medal simply for taking part. So if you are 100 and a granny and you enter into the Olympics or whatever, you need to get to know fam, cos you’ve got competition, in the small, slightly forgetful form of Ruth(less) Firth. We’ve totally got your back, Nana.
